June’s booking data, drawn from Paximum’s global B2B network, highlights the vibrancy of the Latin American market while once again confirming the platform’s strength as a bridge between regional demand and global inventory.

In June, users across Latin America booked destinations around the world, with the Dominican Republic leading the way, followed by strong interest in the United States and Europe.

June’s hotel rankings show that travelers visiting Latin America continue to favor the All Inclusive concept. While resort hotels in the Dominican Republic make up the majority of the list, the Caribbean remains one of the region’s most powerful holiday destinations.

In particular, the concentration of properties in Punta Cana, along with the strong presence of international chains like Riu, Wyndham, Sunscape, and Catalonia, confirms that demand for trusted brands continues. At the same time, regional brands also hold strong positions in the top rankings, alongside these international chains.

💡 The list features more regional brands like Serenade Caribe Club and Santo Domingo Bay Convention Resort & Casino at the top. What feature do you think makes these resorts attractive to guests and allows them to compete with large chain hotels?

💬 According to Diego Donato, LATAM Sales Director at Paximum:

The combination of competitive rates, attractive promotions, and a strategic location allows these resorts to successfully compete with major hotel chains.

Additionally, both properties have strong demand from the domestic Dominican market. For Santo Domingo Bay Convention Resort & Casino, its location in Boca Chica is a key advantage, as it is a popular destination for Dominican travelers looking for weekend getaways.

The 10 Most Visited Destinations

Other Dominican destinations such as Alto, Playa Bávaro, and Bayahibe also making the top five highlights the country’s strong standing in resort tourism. This overall picture shows that demand for classic “sun-sand-sea” holidays remains stable.

Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, and Willemstad reflect the vibrancy of intra-regional travel, while Rome, Madrid, and New York appearing in the top 10 shows that Latin American travelers are also drawn to cultural experiences and city-focused trips.

💡 Although many regions from the Dominican Republic are included in the city rankings, Punta Cana has been at the top for two months. What do you think is the most important difference between Punta Cana and other Dominican cities?

💬 According to Diego Donato, LATAM Sales Director at Paximum:

Punta Cana has an air connectivity, making it easily accessible from most LATAM source markets. It also offers the largest hotel inventory in the Dominican Republic, including many international hotel chains. In addition, Punta Cana appeals to a wide range of travelers, including families, couples, honeymooners, groups, corporate events (MICE), destination weddings, and luxury travelers. This broad appeal, combined with its extensive accommodation options, makes it the leading destination compared to other Dominican cities.

The 10 Most Visited Countries

In the country rankings, the Dominican Republic tops the list thanks to both its resort diversity and its all-inclusive offerings. The United States comes in second, while Italy and Spain’s strong positions point to continued interest in European destinations. Meanwhile, Latin American countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile also appearing in the top 10 shows that bookings aren’t limited to long-haul travel, intra-regional routes are gaining momentum as well.

💡 The Dominican Republic and Punta Cana in particular has topped the rankings for the past two months. In your opinion, which destinations in the LATAM market are still underrated but deserve much more attention from both travel agencies and travelers?

💬 According to Diego Donato, LATAM Sales Director at Paximum:

In my opinion, several LATAM destinations deserve much more attention. These include Cartagena (Colombia), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile), Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) and Cabo San Lucas (Mexico). Each of these destinations offers unique experiences, excellent tourism infrastructure, and strong appeal for different traveler segments

Based on June’s data and our Q&A insights, here are some conclusions about what shapes holiday preferences among travel enthusiasts in Latin America:

1. Ease of Travel Destinations with convenient air connectivity in Latin America clearly stood out, suggesting that travelers in this region place real weight on travel comfort and duration when choosing where to go.

2. Wide Range of Services and Variety Destinations offering broad service coverage and brand diversity tend to rank higher across LATAM. This suggests travelers want the opportunity to choose from trusted, well-known brands while still finding the specific experience that fits their trip, and having plenty of options may make a destination more appealing overall.

3. Price-Value Balance Among regional brands, those offering competitive rates and attractive promotions tend to come out ahead. This points to price-performance being a key factor in destination choice. Travelers visiting Latin America appear to be cost-conscious, paying close attention to whether they’re getting real value for what they spend.
